Warszawa, Śródmieście, Hoża
Apartment with a garden in a townhouse in the city center
A unique apartment with a garden in the heart of Warsaw
Hoża Street, one of the most beautiful streets in Warsaw, is a perfect place for those who love the atmosphere of a big city. Hoża has retained the atmosphere of an elegant pre-war street. It starts at Plac Trzech Krzyży and crosses the main arteries of Warsaw. Intimate cafes, restaurants, bookstores and small shops create an environment conducive to spending free time.
At the end of the 19th century, Hoża became a big city street. There were two cinemas, numerous shops and pastry shops. It was here that Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz was born. The owner of one of the properties was the famous prima donna of the Warsaw Operetta, Wiktoria Kawecka. In 1890, at number 50, the tenement house of Fryderyk Martens, the founder of the Joint-Stock Association of Industrial and Construction Plants, was built, the splendor of which was restored at the beginning of the 21st century by the FENIX GROUP. During several years of work, all the necessary details of the old building have been recreated. The interior of the tenement house impresses with its reconstructed details in the style of late Art Nouveau combined with elements of eclecticism. The staircases were decorated with a floral frieze. Flower elements on the walls correspond with the decoration of balustrades and stucco.
The whole is complemented by geometrically carved portals and large wooden windows.
