After being burned down during the Warsaw Uprising, the tenement house was renovated in 1947-1948, retaining its unique character.

Northern Śródmieście is bordered by three major avenues—Jerozolimskie, Jana Pawła II, and Solidarności—and by the Vistula escarpment to the east.
