Puszcza Biała (also Bishops’ Forest)-a pine forest complex stretching from Pultusk to Ostrow Mazowiecka. The area is about 85,000 hectares (about 850 km²), of which forests occupy about 51,000 hectares (about 510 km²). The area is included in the Natura 2000 protected areas.
The Bug River and its tributaries, the Brok, Narew, and Zgorza Struga, flow through the area. Together with the tributaries, they form floodplains and oxbow lakes that influence the character of the local flora and fauna.
The White Forest is home to 150 species of birds, including 30 protected ones. Cranes, black storks, and gray herons can also be seen here.
