LOCATION

Kościelisko is a large village (54 km² in area, less than 4.5 thousand inhabitants) with an outstanding tourist character, located less than 6 kilometers west of Zakopane. It is on the territory of Koscieliska that the largest valleys in the Tatra Mountains are located – Chocholowska (35 km²) and Koscieliska (34 km²). The network of trails allows tourists to traverse them length and breadth, on foot, on horseback, on skis or by bicycle, gloating along the way at the wildlife – meadows dotted with crocuses, green mountain pine bushes, snow-capped peaks, chamois jumping on the rocks or bears strolling cautiously. Clean, refreshing mountain air, unforgettable views of the Tatra peaks, excellent conditions for recreational activities in various sports all year round and cultural richness make Koscielisko attract tourists in large numbers with consistent strength.

Author’s design studio founded in 2006 by Jan Karpiel-Bułecka jr and Marcin Steindel. The studio has to its credit dozens of realizations of houses, guesthouses and hotels in Zakopane and the entire Podhale region.

For their work to date, the architects have accumulated a number of awards. These include, among others, the Stanisław Witkiewicz Małopolski Voivodeship Award twice, awarded for the best contemporary architectural realizations conducive to the protection and shaping of the cultural landscape of Małopolska, as well as the prestigious European Property Award for projects: The House in the Tatra Mountains and The Farmhouse in Chorowice, recognized as the best single-family houses in Europe.
