“We want Żoliborz from sea to sea” – it is not without reason that this slogan appears on the mural by Łukasz Rudnicki by the Marymont metro station. The name itself indicates that it is a beautiful space, from the French “Joli Bord” which exactly means “Beautiful shore”. The infrastructure of Żoliborz developed in the 1920s , which can be seen when looking at the architecture of villas and mansions located along narrow, atmospheric streets. The main axes became Mickiewicza and Krasińskiego Streets with Inwalidów Square and Wilsona Square. Between the streets there is a beautiful Stefan Żeromski park with the Old Powder Tower in the middle, where you can eat, drink and get in touch with culture.
Żoliborz is a prestigious, green district of the capital, known as the green lungs of the city. The buildings in this area are diverse – from manor-like villas with beautiful gardens to modern apartments with large terraces. Here you can find beautiful penthouses overlooking the skyline of Warsaw and pre-war mansions with stucco. Żoliborz is the district that suffered the least during World War II.
Żoliborz is primarily people – socially and culturally active. This smallest district is loved by people from the world of culture, business, sports and media. Such a nice neighborhood creates a family atmosphere. The proximity of the city center does not prevent Żoliborz from being a quiet and pleasant neighborhood.
It is a great location also due to the communication network – the metro line runs through the district, reaching the center by car takes a moment, for those traveling by public transport – there’s also easy access to stops.
