THE TENEMENT:
The townhouse was built just before World War I, between 1913 and 1914, for R. Gessner, who quickly sold it to the well-known entrepreneur and investor Edward Ahrends. Its early modern architecture was full of simplified details in the spirit of Renaissance and Baroque art. A distinctive feature preserved to this day is the gate portal with an unusually fanciful inscription with the mortgage number of the house – 6584. The complete revitalization of the building was completed in 2010. The beautiful facade, the entrance to the building and the staircases emphasize the prestigious character of the place. The common areas are finished in stone and wood, referring to the classic chic and elegance of those years.
