Canadian School of Warsaw

The Canadian School of Warsaw is an international school located in Warsaw’s Mokotów district, founded in 2000. It offers a wide range of education for children and young people, offering places in preschool and in the two primary schools it operates.

The school holistically integrates the Polish core curriculum with the international curriculum developed by the International Baccalaureate Organization, integrating it with the Polish core curriculum. From early childhood through elementary school, the school operates based on the Primary Years Programme (PYP). This curriculum focuses on placing students at the center, addressing their needs, strengthening their competencies for learning and social interaction while respecting their emotional well-being. In preschool, children learn through integrated activities in mathematics, science, music and movement, art, social studies, physical education, French, chess, and project-based coding. The oldest preschool groups follow the Polish core curriculum. Children also have access to a wide range of extracurricular activities based on physical activity (sports), fostering curiosity (archaeology, ceramics), and musical development (in the form of instrument lessons, such as drums or piano).

The school has a total of three locations:

• Canadian Preschool in Warsaw, located at 54 Ignacego Krasickiego Street, near the popular Warszawianka [Warsaw Musical Theatre]
• Canadian Primary School in Warsaw at 7 Bełska Street
• Canadian Primary School in Warsaw at 11 Olimpijska Street

The schools and preschool have a combined student population of approximately 40% from abroad. In preschool, the majority of teachers (62.5%) are native speakers. In elementary schools, the proportion is smaller – 24% of teachers are from other countries, with 76% of staff being Polish.

In elementary schools, the curriculum is based on Polish and international core curricula. The Canadian School in Warsaw prepares elementary school students for English language proficiency exams:

• PET: Preliminary English Test,
• FCE: First Certificate,
• CAE / C1 Advanced

The school boasts high pass rates on the eighth-grade exam, exceeding the average for the district, Warsaw, and the country. Particular attention is paid to English language learning, with students achieving an average of 99.2% in 2024.
