Praia da Luz is a wonderful seaside town located 5km from Lagos, near the Costa Vincentina National Park. Although technically Luz is still part of Lagos, it is physically separated by a 2km wide cliff. This physical separation has allowed Luz to retain its identity as a small family village by the ocean, even though it has undergone a major transformation from fishing village to beach paradise.
