Józefów belongs to the Otwock range of spa towns, it was also called a summer resort. History pictures Józefów as a leisure and spa town, due to the enormous amount of green areas around it.
After World War II, Józefów experienced an influx of people from the then-destroyed Warsaw. It was also then that the town developed rapidly, also due to the modern multi-family housing estates that were being built there.
Currently, Józefów is very popular due to excellent communication with the center of Warsaw. It is a place for those who want to leave the city behind, but still be close to the capital, if necessary.
Józefów is a town surrounded by forest and low residential buildings situated on plots of large areas, in the buffer zone of the Mazowiecki Landscape Park. Access to the center of Warsaw now takes about 23 minutes. It is worth mentioning that in August 2020, the Southern Bypass of Warsaw is to be put into use, along with a new bridge at the height of Wawer, which will significantly reduce the travel time to the center of Warsaw. Another advantage is the proximity of the Józefów PKP / SKM station, and the renowned STERNIK school and kindergarten, just a few minutes’ drive away.
