FLAT FOR RENT – THE POLISH BANK OFFICIALS’ HOUSE
APARTMENT FOR RENT – BANK OF POLAND OFFICIALS’ RESIDENCE
Excellent location / Pre-war building / Currently being refreshed
For rent, an exceptional 88 m² apartment located on the first floor of one of the most elegant pre-war buildings in Southern Śródmieście – the former Bank of Poland Officials’ Residence at 10 Lwowska Street.
LAYOUT AND STANDARD
The 88 m² apartment consists of three spacious, well-proportioned rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. Its functional layout is ideal for a couple or family, as well as for anyone looking for a separate home office.
The interiors retain their original pre-war character. The rooms are approximately 3.10 m high, with classic decorative mouldings and wooden herringbone parquet flooring. Large windows overlook greenery, providing plenty of natural light and a sense of space throughout the apartment. Additional features include underfloor heating in the bathroom and a spacious basement storage unit of approximately 6 m², available for the tenant’s use.
The apartment underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2015 and is currently being refreshed. The work is scheduled for completion by 15 October 2026, when the property will be ready to move into. The kitchen features classic white cabinetry designed to complement the character of the pre-war building.
LOCATION
Lwowska is one of the most charming and intimate streets in Southern Śródmieście. Its continuous frontage of pre-war buildings, limited car traffic and proximity to some of Warsaw’s most prestigious streets and squares give this part of the city a distinctive atmosphere.
Plac Politechniki, Plac Zbawiciela and Mokotowska Street are all within a few minutes’ walk. The immediate neighbourhood offers highly regarded restaurants, cafés and boutiques, as well as the Warsaw University of Technology. Pole Mokotowskie and Ujazdowski Park are also nearby, providing easy access to green spaces.
Excellent public transport connections – including Politechnika metro station and numerous tram and bus lines – provide convenient access to the rest of Warsaw.
BUILDING
The building was constructed between 1927 and 1928 as the Bank of Poland Officials’ Residence. It was designed by Zdzisław Mączeński, with subsequent modifications by Stanisław Szczęśniak. Its architecture combines Neoclassical influences with elements of Polish decorative art characteristic of Warsaw in the 1920s.
The façade is distinguished by three central bays projecting beyond the main elevation and a rusticated ground floor. The representative entrance gate is flanked by Doric columns and features a hand-forged metal gate decorated with a gilded floral motif, crafted by the Warsaw workshop of G. Gottschalk.
The building has a solid brick structure with fire-resistant ceilings, while its façade facing Lwowska Street is protected under the provisions of the local spatial development plan.
This property is an excellent choice for those looking for a home with character – combining history and authentic pre-war architecture with the comfort of a carefully maintained and refreshed interior in one of Warsaw’s most desirable central locations.
