A second home (second home) is an apartment or house purchased for regular stays away from home. It’s most often associated with a specific lifestyle and season—summer by the sea, winter in the mountains, part of the year in southern Europe, or somewhere that allows you to combine relaxation with remote work. Passions often determine the choice of location—proximity to the best ski slopes, golf courses, marinas, kitesurfing spots, and water sports. A second home allows you to spend more time where the conditions are best, without having to plan your trip from scratch. It can be used exclusively by the owners and their loved ones, but it often serves as an investment, especially in locations attractive for short-term rentals.
In Poland, a second home is most often associated with properties on the Baltic Sea, in Masuria, and in the mountains. Abroad, the most popular destinations are Spain, Portugal, the south of France and Italy, Greece, Cyprus, as well as more exotic destinations such as Thailand.
