Kamienna Góra is considered to be the most luxurious and prestigious district of Gdynia. It was created as an exclusive pre-war summer resort and then a villa district, which has retained its character to the present day. The buildings from the 1920s have features of the manor house style, contrasted with the original modernist architecture of the 1930s with a modern reinforced concrete structure and brick filling. Villa Baśka at 4 Korzeniewskiego Street on Kamienna Góra in Gdynia was built by Stefania Wolffowa in 1923. Esteemed Warsaw architect Oskar Sosnowski designed in Kamieniec Pomorski (then the name of Kamienna Góra) an interesting manor house in classicist form. Later, in the nineties, the house was demolished and rebuilt, preserving its original shape, together with a spacious apartment section.
The text and the photograph come from the materials for a book being prepared by Arkadiusz Brzęczek, author of several publications “Secrets of Gdynia tenement houses”. The photo dates back to 1940.
